Syllabus for Cloud Server Class

1. Introduction
	
2.	What you will learn - open an account with Microsoft. setup Windows Enterprise Server 2012 with two users, add a second hard disk drive, install Remote Desktop Connection for PC; tablet; Chromebook; and smart phones, set multiple backups, setup a second server for failsafe in a different region, install programs, schedule backups of a computer or server to the cloud server, setup a second server so we can have up to 25 users, configure licenses for up to 25 users, add a second monitor to the user workstation, setup local printers for the cloud server programs, setup a local scanner for the cloud server programs, consider additional cpus and ram memory and costs, discuss setting up forests and servers for thousands of users.

3.	Begin Class
  a. Each student will open a Microsoft account using his own credit card, email address, and password. If he doesn't have them, they will be provided. There will be no charges against the credit card.

  b. Create a Windows Server Enterprise 2012 r2 with basic power on the East Coast.
	write down the passwords and addresses
	set 2 additional synchronized backup copies.
	set a second server location on the West Coast.
	add a second hard disk drive
	create a test directory, Test - copy some test files to the Test directory
	create four users with passwords
	write down the passwords and descriptions

  c. Download and install RDP onto a tablet and smart phone. They will be provided.
     Log on to the server with the PC, tablet, and smart phone.
     Log on to the other three users, one for each window on your PC - and then close them

  d. Open the server browser and download the backup utility program, install, and configure it.
	set it to backup the Test directory

  e. Open the PC browser and download the backup utility program, install, and configure it.
	create a test directory, Test - copy some test files to the Test directory
	set it to backup the Test directory
	set the task scheduler a task called Cloudbackup on the PC to backup once a day at 7 p.m.
	run the task immediately and verify that the directory was updated on the Cloud Server

  f. Create a second Windows Server to use for extra users
	write down the passwords and addresses
	add user licenses to the server - this is simulated because you didn't purchase the licenses

  g. Set the RDP program to use two monitors on the PC

  h. Set the printer ports to use the printer on you PC network

  i. Using the cloud server browser, download and install the scanner program to use the scanner on your PC network

    Discuss considerations to add additional cpus and ram memory and costs
    discuss setting up forests and servers for thousands of users
    discuss the six month trial terms from Microsoft
